Is the Blessed Virgin God's mother?

If the Blessed Virgin Mary is the mother of Jesus Christ, a divine person, we can say that she is the mother of God, since Jesus Christ is, at the same time, true man and true God, but just one person of divine character.

 

In the New Testament, we find the corresponding ratification: So, in Saint Luke 1, 31-32, we can read that the angel says to the Blessed Virgin:“…Behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb and shalt bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus. He shall be great and shall be called the Son of the Most High”.

 

And even clearer in Saint Luke 1, 43:“And how I have deserved that the mother of my Lord should come to me?”If the Blessed Virgin is called “mother of my Lord”, she is called “mother of God”, since in the Jewish tradition, the Word “Lord” was used to refer to God.

 

The Ephesus Council in the year 431, much before there was any Protestantism denying the traits of the Virgin, established as dogma of faith that  the Blessed Virgin is “God's mother.” We already know that valid Councils have the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, which means they are infallible.
